GRACE PRESBYTERIAN, YORK, PA is seeking a full-time pastor for its new congregation. Desired qualifications for this position are outlined in the Pastor Ministerial Profile which can be found on the website.
Grace Presbyterian is a church plant of the EPC denomination. Two couples were commissioned by the denomination in the fall of 2014 to plant this church with oversight from three small EPC churches in southern York County. Since that time, Grace has gathered a mission group using information meetings, Bible studies, and a Sunday morning worship service (began in October 2015). A team of three pastors, led by Dr. Rob Norris of Fourth Presbyterian Church (EPC) in Bethesda, MD, has been filling the Grace pulpit since the onset of services. The mission of Grace Presbyterian is: “To advance the Kingdom of God in our homes, our workplaces, our communities, and the world by equipping the whole church body for whole-life discipleship.”
Because Grace is a church plant, the pastoral call will, technically, come from one of the aforementioned EPC partner churches with full-time dedication to Grace. Grace will, however, lead the pastoral search process and will provide the entire financial support of its new pastor. The “membership” of this church plant does not include a contingent from any of the three partner churches, but is, instead, solely comprised of people who live in the York area.
In addition to seeking a full-time pastor, Grace Pres is prepared to hire a part-time Director of Children’s Ministries and a part-time Director of Music.
York is located in south central PA and makes up part of a triangle of three cities including Harrisburg and Lancaster. York is a college town and is also considered, by some, to be a bedroom community to Baltimore, just an hour to the south. The small town has a rich history including being a site of the original Continental Congress, being the original home of the York Peppermint Patty. York is the current home of a minor league baseball team in a new state-of-the-art stadium and has a vibrant arts community.
