Classes for Spring 2017
Spiritual Disciplines and Hermeneutics
January 10 – February 21, 2017 6:30 – 9:15 p.m.
Instructor: Doreen Miller, MD, MAR in Spiritual Formation
In this course, we will explore together Christian spiritual practices both familiar and unfamiliar, both new and ancient. When we accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, the Holy Spirit begins to transform us into the likeness of Christ. God renews and re-creates each of us both uniquely/personally and corporately/together. Though God does the work, we must actively cooperate, saying “Yes” to this transformation. We will learn from each other as we practice various spiritual disciplines and in the process come to know God more in surprising and powerful ways.
Online course registration deadline for Spiritual Disciplines is January 4th. On Campus registration deadline is January 9th.
Doreen Miller is a medical doctor; returned missionary; wife of one, mother of four, and grandmother of six; and a trained spiritual director. She completed her MAR in Spiritual Formation at Evangelical Seminary, is licensed as Congregational Spiritual Director at Gingrichs Mennonite Church, and currently the Spiritual Direction Coordinator for the MAMin and MDiv programs at Evangelical.
