The Wesley Forum, offering insight into the history, theology and spirituality of John and Charles Wesley, will be held on April 14, 2015 in Dech Chapel. Our speaker will be Dr. Wendy J. Deichmann, president of United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
Wendy’s three sessions will focus on the theme, “What’s Right About Orthodoxy?”, and will explore how the Wesleyan understanding of Scripture’s transcendent truth informs ministry within a pluralistic culture.
This event is open to all but registration and an entrance fee is required. CEU’s for lecture attendance will be offered upon request. Deadline for registration is April 6, 2015.
Wendy has earned an MDiv from Colgate Rochester Divinity School and a PhD from Drew University. She is co-editor of Gender and the Social Gospel and has authored numerous articles on the history of Chrisian missions and the social gospel movement. Her areas of research and study include the history of Christianity, American religious history, women in the history of Christianity, historical theology, and Wesleyan/United Methodist studies
