Do you have a calling to disciple others? To lead adults or youth into a deeper relationship with Christ? To start a life-changing prayer ministry? To be a spiritual companion to those who are seeking to clearly discern God’s presence and guidance in their lives?
“The primary purpose of reading the Bible is not to know the Bible but to know God.”― James Merritt
The Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation and Direction will prepare you to help others in these ways, and many more. Rooted in Scripture, inspired by history, and passionately committed to Christ, this program will equip you to walk with others on their own spiritual journey… with deep wisdom and great grace… whether one-on-one, in small groups, in retreat facilitation, or in a congregational setting. In addition to providing a thoughtful academic foundation, students are offered a three-semester practicum in spiritual direction, in which they are trained in the practice of this ancient Christian ministry. Upon graduation, the student will receive both a Master’s degree and a Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction.
If you’re interested in some training in spiritual direction but aren’t sure if you want to commit to the full Master of Arts program, check out our Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction.
