David Woolverton

David Woolverton, United Methodist Student Advisor
 David E. Woolverton has been in ministry for over 30 years.  He is an ordained United Methodist pastor, having served in churches facing turn-around ministry situations. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Religion from Albright College (Reading, PA) and Masters of Divinity degree with a concentration in pastoral care and crisis intervention from Princeton Theological Seminary (Princeton, NJ).  He is a doctoral candidate in Conflict Leadership (one dissertation away from completion!).  David also has had intensive clinical training in hospital chaplaincy in both Northern New Jersey and West Philadelphia with a focus on emergency and trauma care as well as HIV/AIDS hospice care.
In 2003, David founded a non-profit Christian counseling agency to address mental health needs by providing high-quality, Christ-centered counseling at below-market cost to the under-served population in Western Lancaster County, PA.  He has served in leadership positions on non-profit boards and committees, as well as district and conference level judicatory committees.  He is the 2011 recipient of the Harry Denman Award in Evangelism.
In addition to serving as a pastor, David is Affiliate Professor of Leadership Studies, Program Director for the Masters of Arts in Leadership, and the United Methodist Student Advisor here at Evangelical Seminary.  David also is a Spiritual Care Professional with the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, as well as a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. He is a clergy mentor and leadership coach and is a sought-after workshop leader and church consultant in conflict leadership and transitions.
David has been married to his wife, Kristine, for over twenty-eight years.  They live in Lancaster, PA, along with their one year old Bernerdoodle puppy.
