Leading Leaders

The members of the administration and staff at Evangelical Seminary are deeply committed to the education of their students.

Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Proverbs 9:9-10 (NIV)

God’s Word Transforms

When I was hired at Evangelical, I spoke to the dean about my desire to teach the New Testament not only from the standpoint of the great theologians, but also from the actual words and meaning of the biblical writer. While respectful and appreciative of 2,000 years of Christian heritage, we desire to know how John or Paul or Peter wanted their God-inspired writing to affect readers. In taking this approach, it doesn’t matter what denomination is represented in the classroom- no one will feel like one theological stance is superior to another. All of us, whatever our backgrounds, are simply confronted, challenged and encouraged by the truth of God’s word; and we leave inspired and enriched. It’s a freeing environment for teaching and learning, and it’s a place where transformation through God’s word is realized.
